This course precisely follows the methods of Joseph Pilates and his original sequence of exercises. Classical mat Pilates is the foundation where every aspiring Pilates instructor must start.
Designed to give participants all the basic skills, knowledge and exercises to allow the safe and effective use of Pilates in providing a great workout for their clients.
Pilates improves flexibility, posture, balances musculature and teaches the body to move with ease and grace. In this course, participants will learn how to shape clients bodies and help them to improve their lives through Pilates workouts.
We have now added extra modules to the course which will help you in your career as a Pilates teacher.Each participant will receive learning materials.

This course requires a recognised, valid and current Gym Instructor which is accredited and mapped at EQF Level 3|NQF Level 4 such as the PFS GYM INSTRUCTOR or Personal Trainer qualification which is accredited and mapped at EQF Level 4 | NQF level 5* such as the PFS PERSONAL TRAINER.
If you didn't qualify with us, you will need to attend all modules including Anatomy Basic and Anatomy Advanced.
If you currently do not hold any qualifications,

Applicants should have a keen interest in the Pilates concept and a reasonable level of flexibility is recommended. Although not required, we encourage taking part in Pilates and/or Yoga classes prior to joining the course.
Pilates is usually practised barefoot. Black grip socks or barefoot-style shoes or ballet practice shoes or the Pilates "shu" are all acceptable.
Course hours that require 100% attendance: 48 hours over six weekend days + optional 16 hours over 2 weekends days set approx. four months apart
Additional self-study hours: 12 - 16 hours* the time burden can vary depending on individual ability and dedication. The course dates have been segregated approx. 4-month apart to allow a sufficient amount of time for self-study.
Examination hours: The time involved in examinations is not included in the above hours. All examinations are going to take place on a day other than the actual course days. Information available on the EXAM tab found above.
If done as an individual module, the PFS Classical Pilates Instructor examination will take place on a separate day from the two course days, as specified in the course schedule below
The PFS CLASSICAL PILATES INSTRUCTOR examination consists of:
Theory exam: 21 out of which 17 are multiple choice and 4 are open questions on paper, from our PFS Mat Pilates manual.
Practical: 20-minute demonstration of the Classical sequence of exercises as thought in the course.
Mandatory self-study: the student has to participate in 10 classes taught by a certified Pilates Instructor of their choice. An attendance sheet will be provided that the Instructors need to fill. Not fulfilling this requirement leads to disqualification from the rest of the examination, in which case the participant gains only a certificate of attendance and is not able to teach Classical Mat Pilates. The examination will then need to be repeated at the cost of the student.
Continuous Professional Development Certificate obtained: PFS Classical Mat Pilates Teacher plus additional 3 certificates: PFS FOAM ROLLER & FLEXIBILITY AND MOBILITY INSTRUCTOR® , PFS POSTURAL ASSESSMENT AND ALIGNMENT CORRECTION®, PFS CORE STABILITY& FITBALL EXERCISES INSTRUCTOR®
Study Mode: Theory in class or studio, Practice in the studio, and mandatory Self-study.
Examination: Required - Information available on the EXAM tab found above.
If the course has been completed but the examination hasn't, the participant will receive a Certificate of Attendance and 16 REPs accredited CPD points. The final Certification will only be awarded after passing the repeat examination.
The final Certification is given in the printed form and enables the participant to teach classes and get insured.
All PFS qualifications meet industry standards that have been developed and published by the European Health & Fitness Association (EHFA).
REPs Ireland ensures that all standards used are mapped to and meet all appropriate International standards where possible, to ensure all REPs Ireland members benefit from recognition of their status from other National REPs.
We operate on a first come, first serve basis with no exceptions.
We allow only 10 places per course.
To secure your place on the course the payment should be made upon registration.
We allow 5 calendar days to receive payment before your place is given to another person that has paid.
After 5 calendar days have passed, and we haven't received any payment, you will need to register again if places are still available.
There is no way to prolong the 5 calendar days. Registrations are not accepted if you have already registered and the initial 5 days have not elapsed.
If we have received a late Early Bird payment (i.e. you registered for Early Bird but we haven't received payment within 5 calendar days) you will be liable for the Normal Price as outlined in our Terms & Conditions. No exceptions will be made.
If you have signed up at the Normal Price or Early Bird price and we haven't received the full amount from you before the start of the course, then you will be subject to Instalment payments.

Payment must be made in full and received by us before the course starts. Please take into account that bank transfers may take time and we operate on a first come first serve basis with no exceptions as outlined above in PAYMENT RULES.
The instalment price is divided into six equal payments. The first instalment has to be paid upon registration. The subsequent instalments will be paid during the course with the last instalment paid before the course ends. Instalment payments are subject to our Terms and Conditions.
