Discover the foundations of yoga practice and teaching on this 6-day introductory course, delivered by Paul Fleming, Director of Training at CÓRAS School of Yoga.
The course runs over 12 weeks, with two weeks between each training day. This gives you time to process the material and build your own practice between sessions. The in-person training days are supported by online research and learning resources.
Course content:
Day 1: Yoga Philosophy and System (CPD)
Day 2: Anatomy of Yoga
Day 3: Yoga Practice and Teaching
Day 4: Breathwork and Pranayama (CPD)
Day 5: Meditation and Relaxation (CPD)
Day 6: Classic Yoga Postures (Teaching)
CPD modules: Days 1, 4 and 5 are stand-alone modules. They are open to non-course participants as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) days.
This course is designed as a prelude to the full 200Hr Yoga Alliance certified Teacher Training, the base standard for yoga teachers worldwide.
6 in-person training days, held over 12 weeks, with one or two weeks between each training day to give you time to practise and absorb the material. The training days are supported by online learning resources.
Classes take place at weekends in 5 locations across Ireland. The full schedule for each city is already available, so you can choose the location and dates that suit you best.
Classes usually run from 10am to 4pm.
To receive your certificate, you need to complete two parts:
1. Practical course assessment
There is no single final exam on the training days. Instead, each training day includes short assessments and homework tasks, so you build your knowledge and skills step by step. You need to attend and actively take part in all 6 training days, and complete the assessments and homework set during the course.
2. PFS FUNCTIONAL ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY® exam
Every ProFi course now also requires a pass in the Anatomy and Physiology exam. The PFS FUNCTIONAL ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY® online course is included with this course, and both the course and the exam are included in the course price.
The anatomy course is self-study, with recorded lectures in 11 modules and a short quiz after each one. Allow around 10–15 hours of study.
On successful completion, participants receive a ProFi Fitness School / CÓRAS School of Yoga Certificate of Completion in Introduction to Yoga Practice & Instruction.
Participants attending stand-alone modules 1, 4 or 5 receive a CPD certificate for each module attended.
Please note: this introductory course is not a Yoga Alliance certification. It provides the foundation for progressing to the 200Hr Yoga Alliance certified Teacher Training.
