Stage 3 – The PFS Practical Training Camp is a 3-day immersive, hands-on experience where you learn how to work with real clients, in a real gym, in real professional conditions.

What This 3-Day Camp Is About

This camp bridges the gap between knowing and doing.
You will not only learn what to do as a personal trainer—you will practise how to do it.

You will work with:

This is the final step that turns you into a job-ready personal trainer.

Day 1 – Friday | 10:00 – 16:00

The Personal Trainer in Action

This day focuses on first impressions, client relationships, and professional assessments.

You will learn:

  • The role of the personal trainer

  • Why people hire personal trainers

  • How to create trust and confidence from the first meeting

  • How to book, structure and run personal training sessions

  • How to keep clients motivated and coming back

Client Assessments & Testing

You will learn and practise:

  • Health screening

  • Fitness testing

  • Movement and posture assessments

  • Goal setting (short-term and long-term)

Students will practise on:

  • each other

  • and real gym members (where available)

Every student must complete a full postural and movement assessment, which forms the foundation of a professional training plan.

You will also cover:

  • basic nutrition

  • lifestyle habits

  • wellbeing and recovery

  • how these affect training results

Day 2 – Saturday | 10:00 – 17:00

Solving Real Client Problems

This day is about learning how to coach safely, effectively and intelligently.

You will focus on:

  • the most common client problems:

    • back pain

    • poor posture

    • weak core

    • limited mobility

    • injuries

  • how to modify training for different needs

  • how to track progress and take measurements

Recovery, Mobility & Fascia Training

This entire day includes deep practical work on:

  • foam rolling

  • myofascial release

  • stretching

  • mobility training

  • recovery systems

You will also be introduced to:

  • breathwork

  • relaxation and mental recovery

  • basic meditation techniques for stress reduction

This ensures you can train clients not just harder but smarter.

Day 3 – Sunday | 10:00 – 16:00

Final Preparation & Practical Exam

The morning begins with:

  • Q&A

  • revision

  • discussion of real client case studies

  • preparation for the assessment

Final Practical Assessment

Each student will:

  • perform a client assessment

  • analyse posture and movement

  • identify problems

  • design a training plan

  • coach a session

You will be evaluated on:

This final practical stage is open to:

PFS Students:
Participants who have successfully completed Stage 1 (Self-Paced Online Learning) and Stage 2 (Live Online Expert Modules) of our Global Personal Trainer Certification.
✔️ This is your required final step toward earning full international certification and becoming a PFS Certified Personal Trainer.

Personal Trainers from Other Systems:
Already certified but want to refresh your knowledge or update your practical skills? This camp is perfect for trainers who:
✔️ Completed their qualifications years ago and want a modern update
✔️ Hold a non-English or non-REPs recognized certification and wish to make it valid internationally
✔️ Want to regain confidence in delivering high-quality, hands-on training sessions

International Fitness Professionals:
Trainers certified abroad who are now working or planning to work in English-speaking or REPs-accredited countries (such as Ireland, the UK, the UAE, and Australia).

STAGE 3 – 3-Day Practical Training Camp

Format: Hands-on, in-person learning under expert supervision

The Stage 3 practical exam takes place during a 3-day intensive training camp and is designed to assess your real-world readiness to work as a fully qualified Personal Trainer.

This final stage goes beyond theory — it's about showing that you can apply your knowledge in a live setting, lead real sessions, make decisions, and guide clients safely and effectively.

Participation Requirements

To pass this practical evaluation, each student must actively:

  • Observe real-time sessions and instructor demonstrations
  • Participate in physical training activities and group tasks
  • Lead various components of a session, including assessments and instruction

These three elements — observation, participation, and instruction — are essential for mastering the craft of personal training.

Practical Exam Format

Your exam is divided into structured segments. Each is designed to simulate the key responsibilities of a personal trainer:

1. Initial Consultation & Assessment

  • Introduce yourself as a personal trainer
  • Conduct an interview and screening session with a client
  • Perform a postural assessment and movement screening
  • Explain the structure and purpose of the training session (oral component)

 2. Warm-Up & Mobility Phase

  • Select appropriate warm-up exercises for the client’s goals
  • Demonstrate correct range of motion and warm-up technique
  • Include joint mobility work relevant to the session
  • Ensure the intensity matches the planned workout

  1. Main Session: Strength, Conditioning, and Coaching Skills

You will be required to:

  • Present and teach 6–8 exercises effectively
  • For 3 selected exercises, present 2 advanced methods (e.g. pyramid sets, isometric training, supersets, GVT, cheated reps)
  • Provide alternative exercise options for 3 exercises, showcasing adaptability
  • Deliver clear instructions, correct form, and ensure safety throughout
  • Identify and correct client errors with appropriate teaching points

 4. Cardio Training Component

  • Lead a cardiovascular session using equipment such as a bike, treadmill, rower, or cross-trainer
  • Cover machine setup, demonstration, technique correction, and intensity management
  • Apply interval training and progression strategies

5. Cool-Down & Flexibility Work

  • Guide a static stretching routine covering key muscle groups
  • Emphasise proper form, timing, and muscle engagement
  • Deliver clear cues and corrections throughout

One-on-One Session with Examiner

To complete your evaluation, you will conduct a full mini-session with your assessor, including:

  • Client introduction and needs analysis
  • Warm-up and mobility integration
  • Nine equipment-based exercises, with full demonstration and teaching
  • Cool-down and static stretching

Assessment Outcome

You will be evaluated on:

  • Technical execution
  • Communication and coaching skills
  • Client safety and progression
  • Professionalism and session structure

Full participation and successful demonstration of skills are required to pass Stage 3 and receive your International Practical Assessment of Personal Trainer Certificate.

After completing all components of the 3-day practical camp and fulfilling all participation and performance criteria, you will be awarded the:

International Practical Assessment of Personal Trainer Certificate

This certificate confirms your ability to deliver safe, effective, and professional personal training sessions in a live environment. It is the final step toward full qualification as a globally recognised personal trainer.

  • You are capable of individualised programme delivery, from warm-up to cool-down

To receive this certificate, you must:

  • Attend all 3 days of the final practical camp
  • Actively observe, participate in, and lead practical tasks
  • Successfully complete a 1:1 assessment session with your examiner
  • Pass all required teaching segments, including:

Warm-up and mobility instruction

Strength and functional training demonstration

Cardio machine session

Stretching and cool-down techniques

100% attendance and active engagement are mandatory for certification. No formal written exam is required — this is a practical, performance-based assessment.
