The Barreable Barre® Instructor course

provides everything you need to confidently prepare and lead professional and engaging Barre classes. It was developed based on extensive knowledge, practical experience, and many years of work in the fitness industry and group exercise instruction, as well as Barre and Pilates training in the United States.

It was meticulously designed to teach you how to safely plan and conduct 55- or 45-minute Barre classes for their clients, including modifications and progressions for different age groups and fitness levels.

What is Barre?

In today’s fitness market, Barre training is one of the hottest trends. It is popular among movie stars and celebrities worldwide. It is a fusion of ballet inspired exercises, Pilates and fitness performed either at the ballet barre, another form of support or without it. Barre is a training method that is both appealing and accessible to people of all ages and fitness levels.

Barre delivers exceptional body-shaping results thanks to low-impact, joint-friendly exercise sequences and is suitable for almost everyone.

Barre training has many benefits: strengthens and tones glutes, legs and calves as well as core muscles, improves posture, helps with pelvic floor health and increases body awareness and coordination. Barre class challenges muscle endurance by performing a full range of motion movements followed by pulses and isometric holds. Stretching throughout the class and afterwards benefits clients’ flexibility.

Barre provides an engaging alternative to other fitness, aerobics, and mind-and-body classes. It can be modified for beginners and offers many ways of progressions for advanced clientele. It can be practiced with accessories such as pilates ball, weights, resistance bands and tubes or gliding disks or without them. It can be done at the comfort of your home, as a personal training program for a client at the gym or as a class at the fitness studio.

During the course, you will learn:

  • biomechanics and muscles in Barre,
  • how to design your class,
  • different methods of teaching to music,
  • a wide range of exercises with additional variations, performed at the barre and on the
  • mat,
  • progressions and modifications for specific populations such as pregnant women,
  • individuals after knee surgery, and youth,
  • practical instructor skills.

You will receive:

  • an easy-to-implement class format,
  • a structured modification system for teaching Barreable Barre®,
  • methods using the barre and without the barre,
  • several ready-to-use teaching plans that you can follow or adapt to your own needs,
  • online platform to practice and review the materials.

Why Barreable Barre?

European fitness market, where Barre, Pilates and other mind-and-body classes are developing

It is a creative and effective foundational program, designed for instructors as well as for those

who wish to begin an instructor career but are unsure how to start.

Do I have to be a dancer or ballerina to be a barre instructor?

The beauty behind barre workouts is that although they are ballet inspired they are suitable for everyone and during the course we learn how to teach, guide and cue our clients. It is actually pretty easy once you get a hang of it! You can also be creative and come up with your own combos and flows based on what you learn during the course to add your touch to each exercise.

Do I have to know how to count the beat to teach Barre?

Although Barre is taught to the music there are many ways of using it while teaching, if you don't feel comfortable with planning exercises to the beat, music can be played as a background to add tempo and energy.
