What does a Gym Instructor actually do?

A Gym Instructor introduces and adheres members to fitness by providing them with individualised workout programmes. The prescribed exercises need to be delivered effectively and safely. The Gym instructor follows up and coaches existing and returning customers and is responsible for the resulting customer fitness experience, which should be positive and meet the customers’ wants and needs. The role also includes being able to plan and evaluate group fitness classes. Teaching groups of individuals entails an understanding of group teaching methodology and adherence to specific Health & Safety guidelines.
