This course is open to anyone who wants to enhance their teaching skills and broaden their knowledge in fitness training while striving for excellence in their career.
- Clubs can nominate up to 10 participants per session to attend the course and elevate their qualifications.
- Please inform us during the registration process if any attendees have learning difficulties or disabilities, so we can ensure appropriate accommodations.

PFS AQUA AEROBICS® STAFF TRAINING – One-Day Course Schedule
Course Duration: 6.5 hours (100% attendance required)
Total Additional Self-Study Hours: 5-8 hours (varies based on individual ability)
Course Overview:
This course will prepare instructors to lead safe and effective Aqua Aerobics classes, utilizing water resistance, specialized equipment, and a holistic approach to fitness for various client needs (e.g., seniors, pregnant women, injury recovery).
Course Day Schedule:
10:00 AM – 10:30 AM
Introduction and Course Overview
- Welcome and introduction to the course.
- Overview of Aqua Aerobics principles, benefits, and target groups (e.g., seniors, pregnant women, injury recovery).
10:30 AM – 11:15 AM
Session 1: Pool Warm-Up (45 min)
- Practical session: Conducting a healthy warm-up in the water.
- Focus on safety, water resistance techniques, and appropriate movements for beginners.
- Using water resistance to safely prepare participants for the main workout.
11:15 AM – 11:45 AM
Break (30 min)
- Light refreshments and informal Q&A.
- Time for participants to prepare their own moves and discuss the morning’s activities.
11:45 AM – 12:30 PM
Session 2: Pool Workout Techniques (45 min)
- Practical session: Teaching movements and techniques for effective water workouts.
- Focus on using the principles of water resistance and hydrostatic pressure for body toning.
- Application of Aqua equipment (e.g., noodles) in both shallow and deep water.
- Adapting the class for different fitness levels (e.g., for people with osteoporosis, injuries, or pregnancy).
12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
Session 3: Aqua Aerobics Theory (1 hour)
- Theoretical session:
- Physiological aspects of Aqua Aerobics.
- The structure of an Aqua class: Warm-up, workout, cooldown, and stretching.
- Health and safety principles.
- The use of music and tempo in Aqua classes.
1:30 PM – 2:00 PM
Session 4: Studio Session – Class Structure and Teaching Techniques (30 min)
- Explanation of the different types of Aqua classes (e.g., cardio-focused, strength-focused, low-impact for seniors).
- Discuss how to design a class for various participant needs (e.g., for people with injuries or mobility issues).
- Techniques for delivering a motivating class using music and tempo.
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Session 5: Cool Down and Stretching Techniques (1 hour)
- Practical session: Proper cooldown and stretch techniques for the water environment.
- How to safely cool down participants in the pool.
- Discuss the benefits of stretching in water for flexibility and recovery.
3:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Course Review and Certification
- Recap of the key points learned during the day.
- Review of safety guidelines and class structure.
- Final questions and answers.
- Certification distribution: Participants receive their course completion certificates.

- Recommended Additional Training:
- First Aid and Life Guard Course: While not mandatory, it is highly recommended for all Aqua Aerobics instructors.
- Self-Study Hours: After the course, participants should plan for an additional 5-8 hours of self-study, reviewing the materials and techniques covered.
Outcome of the Course:
Upon completing this course, instructors will be able to:
- Safely and effectively run Aqua Aerobics classes for various fitness levels and needs.
- Use Aqua equipment (like noodles) and water resistance to tone bodies and improve overall fitness.
- Work in leisure centers, health clubs, or as a freelance Aqua Aerobics instructor.
Examination and Certification
To receive certification, participants must successfully complete component of the assessment:
Practical Assessment
- Each participant must deliver a 10-minute class demonstration.
- The demonstration will assess:
- Teaching skills, including communication and group engagement.
- Correct cycling techniques and posture.
- Use of music to guide and enhance the session.
- Ability to motivate and instruct participants effectively.
Certification
Participants who pass both components will receive official certification, confirming their ability to deliver high-quality aqua aerobic classes that meet professional standards.
Payment Details
- Payment Deadline: Payment for the course must be made at least one week before the scheduled date. This allows us to:
- Print training materials,
- Arrange travel or accommodation for the trainer, if necessary.
- All costs related to materials, trainer logistics, and other requirements are included in the course fee.
