Take your fitness professionals to the next level in postural assessment and train them how to restore the range and correct pattern of basic movements performed in daily life to gain more happy clients.

This course provides the knowledge and skills required to train clients in a functionally specific method. Participants will learn functional exercises that are appropriately designed for all types of athletes and sports enthusiasts.

The course focuses on particular movement patterns to help clients achieve better performance, health and long-term function. After successful completion, participants will earn the professional title of "Functional Training Specialist" on their PFS certificate.

Each student will receive course materials in printed form.

 

Course contents

After the course, you will be able to:

  • Introduction to Functional Training

  • Approaching Sports performance

  • Exercises to develop Strength and Endurance

  • Safe use of functional training

  • Safe use of core training

  • Interval training

  • Optimal flexibility training

  • Create a safe and effective session designed to achieve sports performance and conditioning goals

  • Understand the safe and effective use of Functional Training and Core training

  • Optimise mobility and stamina in competition

  • Identify and correct limiting factors in athletic performance

  • Identify and analyse the weak links in athletic movement

  • Assess, plan and implement a functionally specific training session

  • Conduct strength and endurance testing

  • Apply movement imbalance, speed and quickness training

  • Use power, speed and agility drills

  • Conduct performance sessions for rotation, swinging, throwing, striking, jumping, turning, kicking

  • Conduct progress evaluation

  • As a PT, you will now be able to work with Athletes and clients with various degrees of postural problems and make sure their body is appropriately prepared for the demands of intense training sessions and in doing so not only prevent injury but get them to reach peak performance.

 

Mandatory

This course requires a recognised, valid and current Fitness Instructor or Gym Instructor qualification which is accredited and mapped at EQF Level 3 | NQF level 4* If you didn't qualify with us, a scanned copy of your certificate will be required in response to your registration confirmation email.

This course is open to everyone who wants to improve their teaching skills and general knowledge in the field, walking the path of development and reach excellence.

Additional self-study hours: Not applicable

Examination hours: Not applicable

No examination is required.

IMPORTANT

Participants must have 100% attendance, have sufficient involvement and pass the examination to receive the PFS Functional & Bodyweight exercises certification.

If the course has been completed but the examination hasn't, the participant will receive a Certificate of Attendance and 8 REPs accredited CPD points. The final Certification will only be awarded after passing the repeat examination.

The final Certification is given in printed form and enables the participant to teach classes and get insured.

 

Continuous Professional Development Certificate obtained: PFS FUNCTIONAL TRAINING INSTRUCTOR

Study Mode: Theory in class or studio and Practice in the gym and studio.

 Important

Participants must have 100% attendance and sufficient involvement to receive the PFS FUNCTIONAL TRAINING INSTRUCTOR certification.

After completion of the course, participants will receive 8 REPs Ireland endorsed CPD points.

 

Continued Professional Development

After the successful completion of the course, the participant may:

  • Implement the knowledge and techniques gained in the area of their expertise such as Gym Instruction, Personal Training, Studio Instructors, etc.
  • Use the acquired points towards keeping their main Diploma qualification active

 

Accreditation

All our courses are accredited by REPs Ireland and recognised worldwide through ICREPs.

All PFS qualifications meet industry standards that have been developed and published by the European Health & Fitness Association (EHFA).

REPs Ireland ensures that all standards used are mapped to and meet all appropriate International standards where possible, to ensure all REPs Ireland members benefit from recognition of their status from other National REPs.

PAYMENT RULES 

  • We operate on a first come, first serve basis with no exceptions.
  • We allow only 10 places per course.
  • To secure your place on the course the payment should be made upon registration.
  • We allow 5 calendar days to receive payment before your place is given to another person that has paid.
  • After 5 calendar days have passed, and we haven't received any payment, you will need to register again if places are still available.
  • There is no way to prolong the 5 calendar days. Registrations are not accepted if you have already registered and the initial 5 days have not elapsed.
  • If we have received a late Early Bird payment (i.e. you registered for Early Bird but we haven't received payment within 5 calendar days) you will be liable for the Normal Price as outlined in our Terms & Conditions. No exceptions will be made.
  • If you have signed up at the Normal Price or Early Bird price and we haven't received the full amount from you before the start of the course, then you will be subject to Instalment payments.

Payment must be made in full and received by us before the course starts. Please take into account that bank transfers may take time and we operate on a first come first serve basis with no exceptions as outlined in PAYMENT RULES.
