The proper understanding of the Human Body is crucial for all Fitness Professional, knowing exactly how the Human body works and what process is involved in each movement and exercise, a more deep knowledge in Human Anatomy allows your to provide Fitness Advice on exercising being orientated around the combination of bones, ligaments, tendons, joints and muscles. Without the knowledge of the following principles, you could never achieve clarity on the reason for advising your clients to perform specific movements using a particular technique

This course is included in our courses, such as PFS  PERSONAL TRAINER and PFS PILATES  and is intended for those who want to refresh their knowledge in  Anatomy and repeat the course.

After completing this course you will be able to:

  • Understand and explain the structure/function of tissues and cells
  • Understand and explain the functions of the skeletal system
  • Understand and explain the structure and function of the different types of muscle with examples
  • Understand and explain different types of joints 
  • Understand and explain postural issues and how to rectify them with exercise

 

 

 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This course is open for everyone who wants to improve their teaching skills and general knowledge in the field, walking the path of development and reach excellence.

There are no previous qualifications required however a reasonable level of fitness and exposure to the industry is recommended.
 

What do I need for the course?

An introductory guide to Anatomy & Physiology, by Louise Tucker

  • Course PDF, which will be sent as an attachment with the course confirmation
  • Notepad and pen, Highlighters 

 

Course hours that require 100% attendance: three-day course from 10 am-1 pm each day

 

Additional self-study hours: 10- 15 hours* the time burden can vary depending on individual ability and dedication. The exam date has been set apart to allow a sufficient amount of time for self-study.

Examination hours: The time involved in the examination, is not included in the above hours.

Osteology - Bones and the Skeletal System

Myology - The Muscular System

 

Day 2 - Introduction to:

The Cardiovascular System

The Respiratory System

The Lymphatic System

The Nervous System

The Endocrine System

The Urinary System

 

Day 3:

Posture & Postural Assessment

Core & Breath

Postural Conditions and corrections

 

 

If done as an individual module, the PFS Functional Biomechanics - Posture,  Anatomy & Physiology (EQF level 3) examination has to be done in 1 month time from the course day.

If done as a Personal Trainer or Pilates Course has to be done before practical exam of these courses.

The PFS FUNCTIONAL BIOMECHANICS- POSTURE, ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY  exam consists of 72 multiple choice questions (online exam). Please follow the link to take a short 5 question mock exam:  PFS Anatomy Sample Exam Questions

Upon the completion of the course and successful passing of the exam; you will receive certificate.

Payment rules 

  • We operate on a first come, first serve basis with no exceptions.
  • To secure your place on the course the payment should be made upon registration.
  • We allow 5 calendar days to receive payment before your place is given to another person that has paid.
  • After 5 calendar days have passed, and we haven't received any payment, you will need to register again if places are still available.
  • There is no way to prolong the 5 calendar days. Registrations are not accepted if you have already registered and the initial 5 days have not elapsed.
  • If we have received a late Early Bird payment (i.e. you registered for Early Bird but we haven't received payment within 5 calendar days) you will be liable for the Normal Price as outlined in our Terms & Conditions. No exceptions will be made.
  • If you have signed up at the Normal Price or Early Bird price and we haven't received the full amount from you before the start of the course, then you will be subject to Instalment payments.
